Roarington Art Center
An initiative by Swiss publisher and renowned art collector Michael Ringier, the Roarington Art Center opens a new dimension for art in the rapidly evolving digital universe. To inaugurate it,
Ringier has selected Matt Mullican, a pioneer of virtual space since the 1970s.

About Roarington and Roarington Art Center
Roarington is an emerging virtual platform and digital dreamland dedicated to timeless culture – from classic cars to art, design, and architecture.
The Roarington Art Center, designed by Italian architect
Benedetto Camerana, is located on a hillside above Roarington’s virtual town and defines its core space for contemporary and digital art.
The Roarington Art Center opens in autumn 2025 and will remain permanently accessible.
The Visionary
Matt Mullican – First Exhibition at Roarington Art Center
To inaugurate the Roarington Art Center, Michael Ringier has selected Matt Mullican, a pioneer of virtual space since the 1970s. His 1989 MoMA installation anticipated many aspects of today’s metaverse. In autumn 2025, Mullican will unveil “That Nothing Should Exist: 55 Years of Work” – his first digital exhibition and the essence of 55 years of artistic vision.
As a pioneer in exploring imagined spaces, he has performed in major museums and biennials worldwide – now, for the first time, in a space shaped entirely by cognition and code. Mullican’s show is the first of several exhibitions to follow and will
remain permanently accessible.
